Where to Take the best Engagement Photos in Orlando and Central Florida
Orlando offers a wide range of versatile backdrops for your engagement photos in Orlando, Florida. Whether you call it an engagement session, a save the date session, or pre-wedding photography, the terminology has evolved over the years to fit different needs. For the most part, we simply call them engagement sessions. At their core, they’re meant to celebrate your season of engagement, create timeless engagement portraits, and build excitement leading up to your Orlando wedding day.
Whether you're looking for striking architecture, a lush botanical garden, or something more intimate and secluded, Orlando has a location that fits your vision. Below, we’ll go over some of my favorite engagement photo locations in Orlando that offer the perfect setting for your engagement session and pre-wedding portraits.
Downtown Orlando, Florida
Downtown Orlando, in my honest opinion, makes the perfect backdrop for an engagement session if you know where to look. From historic architecture draped in dramatic light and shadow to quiet corners that feel cinematic, Downtown Orlando engagement photos can look straight out of a movie. It’s also one of the most logistically easy locations for an engagement session in Orlando. Parking is simple, everything is walkable, and we can move quickly between spots. Whether you’re drawn to a historic art deco style library, a rooftop garage overlooking the Orlando skyline, or a classic old church façade, Downtown Orlando offers versatile backdrops for timeless and modern engagement portraits.
Winter Park, Florida (Park Avenue, Kraft Azalea, Winter Park Events Center)
Winter Park, FL is one of the cloassic locations for engagement photos in Central Florida. From the brick-lined streets and upscale storefronts along Park Avenue to the waterfront views at Kraft Azalea Garden, this area offers a timeless and polished backdrop for couples. The botanical gardens, historic architecture, and shaded parks create soft natural light that photographs beautifully year-round. If you’re looking for engagement photos in Winter Park that feel romantic, clean, and elevated without feeling staged, this location delivers variety while keeping everything within walking distance.
Another great spot in Winter Park is Casa Feliz Historic Home Museum. The Spanish-style brick, arches, and courtyard give your engagement photos a warm, romantic feel that’s completely different from the parks nearby. Just keep in mind you do need to schedule an appointment before taking professional photos there. Once approved, it’s easily one of the most unique engagement photo backdrops in Winter Park.
The Winter Park Events Center is another favorite of mine because the modern architecture makes for a great backdrop. Love doing weddings here and I love doing portraits here. Sometimes greenery is find but I just want architecture for a change.
Another favorite is the Winter Park Events Center. The modern architecture creates a clean, elevated backdrop that feels completely different from the garden look. I love photographing weddings here, but it’s also an incredible spot for engagement portraits. Sometimes greenery is great, but having strong lines, glass, and structure gives us something bold and timeless for a change.
Kelly Park in Apopka, Florida
Kelly Park (Rock Springs) in Apopka, Florida is perfect if you love nature and want those beautiful blue spring tones in your engagement photos. The clear water at Rock Springs, the lush greenery, and the natural light make it feel peaceful and refreshing. I especially love shooting here on weekday mornings when it’s quieter. It can feel incredibly intimate and relaxed, which makes it a great option for couples who want something organic and outdoorsy.
